As the developer and author of "Las Aventuras de Talo", aka "Talo's Adventures", I must indicate what you can do and what you can't for the time this game gets published.
The following rules will apply over every developement stage of the game and all it's contents, from the earliest developements stages to the official launch and the following updates, and includes any kind of content (sound, music, pictures, videos, texts or dialogues and plot, etc.) past, present and future which might be added to the game at any update, incluiding incluiding contents which might be retired from the game. In addition, some contents doesn't belong to me, so those contents will be subject to any additional rule that their respective authors considered.
What is considered a "Derivative work"?
This proyect includes several types of contents, characters and enviroment graphics, music and sound effects, the source code, dialogues and plot, etc., which are considered as the Game contents. Any kind of Derivative work makes use of all or part of one or more of the previous contents. It is also considered a Derivative work any kinb of work which does not use any of the contents but uses them as a reference, such as fanarts, screenshoots, videos, gameplays, other fanmade games or spinoffs, etc.
What are you allowed to do?
- Enjoy the game.
- Create fanarts and other derivative works (except other games or spinoffs, please contact me for something like that), however you must provide in the web you're sharing your derivative works where to find the original work. You're free to create anything you please, but I'd apreciate if you help me promoting the proyect.
- Create fansites or other fansites about the proyect, but remember not to eclipse the official pages! This includes this forum, so invite everyone to come and leave their opinions!
- Create and share videos, gameplays, screenshoots and any other way to show the game working, as long as you provide lonks to the game or official pages. You're allowed to edit in any way those contents as long as you don't abuse of editing (use of excesive filters, important edition of the dialogues, music, portraits and other contents of the game, etc.)
What are you not allowed to do?
- Reupload the game and distributing it by yourself. Please make use of the official links provided.
- Modify thegame or create patch for it. For now, there won't be mod support and I'm not going to implement it since is my first project and I want to keep it simple.
- Perform datamining, or reviewing the game contents using third parties software. I hereby understand you might be curious about the game, but please, do not make use of any kind of thing related to datamining or spy through the game folders, needlessly or not.
- Manipulate files generated by the game (savefiles) or alter the game progress by usin cheats or any program which may alter directly or not the game progress. Please, play fairly the game and notice me if you fnd something which may lead you to use any kind of cheat or cheating program.
- Apply reverse technology in order to get acces to any content of the game acceder or using any of the game contents directly by yourself. You may not use freely any other game contents which does not require any reverse technology as well. In the future, I'll deliver some "toolkits" with the resources you'll be allowed to use and their conditions.
Can I make a translation for the game?
- Not for now, but in the future, I'll address something so you'll be able to.
Which rules do apply to Derivative works?
Derivative works will be considered as part of the original, with the exception that third parties have done work to create such derivative works, so in addition to this rules, the third parties which created a derivative work might add any other rule they might please as long as they don't go against these rules. In order to distribute or publish/promote any kind of derivative work, you must give credits properly and links to the original proyect along or inside the derivative work.
What may I monetize?
- You may not monetize any darivative or original work by yourself. If you have interest on monetizing some derivative work, please contact me and ask me for permission. Dependieng on the quality type of work you may want to monetize, I'll ask you for something of the following:
- Game promotion: Obvioulsy, if you make a great work, you'll be able to monetize it as long as you promote the project.
- Payment: A single payment or part of the benefits you may get.
Game related products
Apart of the game, some other products might be launched like OST's, albums, posters, or any other kind of digital or physical product, regardless if they might be considered as merchandising products or not. This kind of articles will follow the same rules than the game itself with the following exceptions:
- It is forbidden to replicate physical products and to distribute copies of digital products.
- You may create any kind of physical or digital derivative work as long as they don't replicate any existent product and follow the derivative works and monetization indications.
- Physical derivative works exposed to the public directly (uploading pictures about a physical derivative work to a webpage will be considered as a digital derivative work) may be exempt of crediting and providing links to the original in the following cases:
- Cosplays: A Cosplay is a costume which pretends to imitate or replicate the appearience of a fictional character. This kind of works will be exempt of providing credits and links on them. However, the person who wears it will have to answer properly to all them who ask about the costume, providing enough information about the proyecto so they can find it on their own. In case a mannequin is wearing the costume, credits and links must be provided properly on a nearby poster or any other physical object.
- Expositions (including stores): It won't be necessary to provide credits and links along with each piece as long as they are properly displayed as a collection or set. On this cases, only one display featuring the credits and links will be necessary for the whole set or collection.
Other questions
May I create gameplays and upload/stream them through YouTube/Tritch/Others?
Yes. However, remember they will be considerated as derivative works, so they must comply the monetizing requirements. This rules might be modified in the future without previous advice. Ignorance does not exempt from compliance. Please make a responsible use of the contents of the game since I've put them a lot of time and effort and I'll keep doing so.
